Arathi Badarinath was born and brought up in Bangalore ,India and now, for many years, live in Battle Creek MI with her family. Arathi, along with art, enjoy music and dance.

Michelangelo once said " Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it". I believe the three important aspect of art is imagination, creativity and inspiration. My inspiration comes from many different things around me. It can be the bright colored flowers, interesting faces, draping of a garment or a beautiful design of an object.

As a young girl, I used to be fasinated when I looked at a painting and wondered as to how it was done and had a secret yearning to create one myself. I finally met an amazing artist Bill Williams who, guided me in the right direction and taught me many things about the craft. I first started with charcoal medium and soon went on to do pastels. Oil was a much recent venture. I enjoy painting potraits and still lifes. It takes me many hours to create a piece as I am not satisfied until it speakes to me! Creating art work gives me immense pleasure and I enjoy every minute of it!!
